Week of August 7, 2022

Psalm 50:1-8, 22-23
Isaiah 1:1, 10-20

Worship Service August 7, 2022

Pastor Brad has been preaching from the prophets for the last few weeks.  Yesterday he used the scripture above from Isaiah.  The other prophets had been addressing rulers.  Isaiah spoke directly to the people as well, criticizing their worship.

How often to do you do something by rote, or by habit?  It’s what you’ve done so many times so you don’t put a lot of thought into it.  This is what Isaiah was talking about.  Are we habitual in our worship or do we really consider and reflect on what we are saying to Him?  Where is the meaning?  Where is the sincerity?  We need to think about what we are saying through our worship.

Did you notice how long it took to say the Lord’s Prayer and how awkward it felt to stop and consider each line of that ever-so-important prayer that we say every week?  Reflection is not always easy or comfortable.  But it will help us consider the importance of our worship and take it to heart.  Even down to the hymns.  What are we praising him for through the music?  Do we mean it?

We need to hear the Word of God and carry it with us throughout the week, until we meet again.
