Luke 16:1-13
Watch yesterday’s service here
In Jesus’ time, the thought was that money was evil. You remember, “it’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven”. The problem, though, isn’t the money itself. It’s what we do with it.
Luke 16:13 states: “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Use the wealth to extend the Kingdom of God. Use these resources to bring the world to God. He put us here to be sure the wealth was used properly. Worship God, not the wealth. Use the wealth to end hunger and hopelessness, to spread overwhelming compassion and joy.
Read the parable from Luke that’s linked above. Just think what could be achieved if we put as much effort into being disciples as the dishonest manager put into growing his personal wealth…
Have a blessed week.
