Psalm 66:1-12

Luke 17:11-19

2 Timothy 2:8-15

Nancy Clark shared an excellent message yesterday.  I’d encourage you to check it out here.

Her benediction, though, needs repeating here.  She found this and wanted to share it with us.

What is in your cup?

Imagine you are holding a cup of coffee and someone comes along and bumps into you.  What happens?  That coffee spills out everywhere.  Why did you spill the coffee?  And I reply, “Because someone bumped me!”  That is the wrong answer.

How can that be?  Well, you spilled the coffee because there was coffee in the cup.  Had there been tea in the cup, tea would have spilled out.  Whatever is in the cup is what will spill out.  And here’s the tough part:  Therefore, life comes along and it’s gonna shake you.  It will happen.  Whatever’s inside of you will come out.  It’s easy to fake it until you are rattled.

So we have to ask ourselves, what’s in  your cup?  When life gets tough, what spills over?  Joy? Gratefulness? Peace? Humility? or Anger? Bitterness? Harsh words? Reactions?  Life provides the cup.  You choose how to fill it

Today, let’s work to fill our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation, kindness, gentleness, and love for others.  Go forth to serve the Lord with gladness in your heart.

Amen?  AMEN!

Have a blessed week!
