Week of October 16, 2022

In the United Methodist Church, the third Sunday of October is designated Laity Sunday.  In the observance of Laity Sunday, the lay people of the church present the worship service.  Lila Breitner organized a wonderful service for us and there were many of the church who participated.  A heartfelt thanks goes out to all of those reading, leading, singing, and praying with us yesterday.  

The hymns themselves outline the story to be told…from We are the Church to I Surrender All, Seek Ye First, Open My Eyes, That I May See, We’ve a Story to Tell to the Nations, and Pass It On.

Announcements Sock-tober Fest – For the month of October, the United Women in Faith are collecting socks and underwear for the women and children who live at Paula’s House.  Please place your donations in the clothes basket in the fellowship hall.  **See the UMiF bulletin board for specific needs and to learn about the purpose and programs of Paula’s House.  Thank you for your generous support! Annual Church Conference – Our annual church conference will be Sunday, October 30 at 4 pm.  We will be hosting a number of other churches that day as they worship with DS Rev. Luan Rourke and then meet regarding the business of the church for 2023. Swiss Steak Dinner — This year’s Swiss Steak Dinner will be held November 12.  Mark your calendar and watch for details! Interfaith Thanksgiving Service — The Interfaith Thanksgiving Service will be held at our church this year.  It’ll be November 20 at 7 pm.  See you there! Cans and bottles needed! — The youth are collecting cans and bottles as a fundraiser to support preparing baskets for shut-ins.  There is a large bin in the fellowship hall outside their room.  Leave your cans and bottles there and they’ll do the rest!  Thank you for your generosity!
