Week of October 30, 2022

Luke 19:1-10

The story of Zaccheus.  We’ve heard it over and over.  But, as ever, there always seems to be a little something new to get out of this and other Bible stories that we’ve heard so often.  For me, this time, it was verse 10:  10 For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost.Oh Praise God for that.  He came to seek out and to save the lost.  I often feel lost, particularly when life gets so very busy and that makes me so very crabby when I’m overwhelmed.  But even so, he’s come to seek out me as well.  He is actively looking for my return.  And I am grateful.

To hear Pastor Brad’s message on this, please click here.  It will take you to the YouTube post of yesterday’s worship.

It was wonderful to have our district superintendent, Rev. LuAnn Rourke, worshipping with us yesterday and then leading the devotions and annual church conferences for a total of 12 churches yesterday afternoon.  We had over 80 guests worshipping and dealing with the business of their local congregations here in our building.  So many helped this go smoothly, from the preparation for and debut of the Coffee Bar to the set-up and tear down of the rooms, to the greeters guiding people to where they needed to be, to Linda Plumb providing the organ music for the worship.  Everyone on the leadership team pitched in to see this through as well as attend our own conference, with time to head uptown and check on the youth that were passing out candy and representing us at the Halloween festivities in town.

Please extend a warm thanks and congratulations to Diana Brown for becoming a certified lay servant on Saturday, just in time to be approved by our church conference on Sunday.

It was a wonderful afternoon and I’m grateful I was there for it.  Please say a quick prayer of praise and blessing for all who participated yesterday.

Have a blessed week! — JB+
