Romans 13:11-14
Matthew 24:36-44

Pastor Brad spoke about several things yesterday centered around Sacred Time.  God created sacred spaces for us, his people, where we could be with him.  We need to recognize the sacred and calm our minds so that we may appreciate that time with God.

Time is a human construct…God did not create clocks in the Garden of Eden and expect us to follow a schedule.  God intended His creation to be a sacred place, not one driven by things to do and a schedule to keep.  In this busy, busy world and all the pressures we feel in preparation for the Christmas holiday season, we need to stop.  Just stop.  And listen for that still, small voice.  God has always been there for us and will always be there.  We need to calm our minds and just appreciate that time with him.

This may be difficult…I myself am struggling while I write this to focus just on Him…it’s Cyber Monday, there are Christmas gifts to order on the cheap, there’s a meeting yet tonight, oh dear there is another set of minutes to type up, lesson plans to prepare for tomorrow and oh my those papers aren’t going to grade themselves…

Shut. It. Down.  Intentionally spend time with God.  Everything else can wait.

Have a blessed week.

If you have a joy or concern you’d like to share with the church (or just with the Pastor), as ever you can forward that directly to Pastor Brad or the office at dundeeumc@gmail.com
